We look forward to dancing with you!
The Orange County English Country Dancers are proud to present the sixth annual Admiral Nelson Ball, celebrating the glorious victories of England's greatest naval hero Admiral Lord Horatio Viscount Nelson (1758-1805) and the gallant tars of the British Royal Navy.
Join us for an evening of English Country Dancing to honor the sailors and battles that solidified the British Royal Navy's rule of the seas during the age of sailing ships.
We are pleased to welcome newcomers and experienced dancers alike to enjoy a night of delightful social dancing. For newcomers, we do strongly recommend attending local regularly scheduled dances to familiarize yourself with the movements and patterns of English Country Dance. During the ball, dances will be walked through and called, but will not be taught. Please click the "Local Dances" link in the navigation bar for information about upcoming regularly scheduled dances near you.
Attire from the lifetime of Admiral Lord Horatio Viscount Nelson (1758-1805) or Regency period is greatly admired, but not required. If you are not able to attend in period costume, we do request that you attire yourself in modern formal wear.
Light refreshments and beverages will be served. Donations of cold food items are gratefully accepted. We regret that, due to ballroom regulations, we are unable to accept donations of any hot or heated food or beverage items.
The largest amount of parking is available in the SoCo parking structure at Harbor and Santa Fe Ave. This structure holds 814 vehicles and does have an elevator. There is a crosswalk, with traffic light, at Commonwealth Ave to cross Harbor Blvd to the Ballroom area. Additionally, there is a pedestrian bridge, which crosses over Harbor Blvd, at the southeast corner of the structure. The bridge ends next to the Old Spaghetti Factory, from where it is a quick three minute walk North to the ballroom building.
For registration information and the ball flier, please click "Ball Flier/Registration" in the navigation bar. Early bird registration is $35.00 per person and must be postmarked by April 30, 2017. As of May 1, 2017, registration is available for $40.00 per person.
